1974. Left Hebburn Clegwell comprehensive school with 3 O'levels and 11 CSE's. Started work at Tynecolour Photographic processing and printing labs in South Shields, where I did processing and printing rising to commercial supervisor. While there I did a city and guilds in photography.

1980. Joined Turners labs, in Pink Lane Newcastle upon Tyne, doing lab work and commercial photography. Eventually running the commercial department.

1983. Joined Tyne Tees Television, as a stills photographer, at a time when Tyne Tees were involved in such programs as.. The Tube, Razzmatazz, Highway, as well as some quality regional programs, and quickly moved on to the camera department were I was trained in all areas of broadcast camerawork, News, Studio, O.B's, PSC, etc.

1992. Was a victim of the first round of television redundancies at Tyne Tees and since then I have been freelance.

2005. As a freelance in recent years I continue to work in all areas of broadcast and corporate work
